Donna and Bill Dehn Undergraduate Education Endowed Biology Scholarship. Subject to the following, the income shall be used to make awards to one or more undergraduate students*. Each award recipient shall be determined by the following criteria:
- Must have a declared major in biology or microbiology
- Must demonstrate financial need as determined by official FAFSA results
- Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
- Preference will be given to students who are the first in their families (generation) to attend college
- The duration of the scholarship shall be for one academic year. The scholarship may be renewed as long as the student continues to meet the scholarship criteria, and has made acceptable progress, as measured by NMSU Academic Standards of Progress criteria, toward his or her degree
- The award will be cancelled if the student does not remain in good academic standing, or fails to make satisfactory progress toward a degree in biology or microbiology
- The amount and terms of each scholarship award shall be determined by the Scholarship Committee. Subject to the availability of funds, the scholarships may be in the amount of tuition, fees and a reasonable amount for book costs
The Scholarship Committee of the Department of Biology shall select the recipients.
